Macy, Winter, Boo Boo, and Maggie
Our Family
Mamie's of Maine was created in the winter 2008 in Alfred, Maine. The business was named after Lauren's grandmother who loved to cook. When Lauren was a child, Mamie would often have her bake in the kitchen with her. As an adult Lauren continued with the love of baking working in various bakeries and restaurants thru out the East Coast. One morning she awoke with the idea to start making bakery goods and wholesaling to stores. Mamie's of Maine was born. A lot of our customers requested whoopie pies. So Lauren went thru Mamie's cook books and recipes. Using her own talent she created our version of what a whoopie pie should be. They became so popular, whoopie pies took over the business.
Our dogs Macy and Winter are part of the biggest joys of our life as well as our cats Boo-boo and Maggie. Macy and Winter were adopted from an Aussie Rescue.They have limited eyesight and are deaf. Our dogs have no idea they have challenges. Macy and Winter could not digest a chocolate whoopie pie, so Cassie created the idea for a dog whoopie pie, and Lauren created the recipe without chocolate. The Woofie Pie became a huge hit because it looks just like a whoopie pie. It's soft, fresh and is delicious.
Our family business is a unique whoopie pie company. Mamie's of Maine is now expanding. Not only do we have whoopie pies and Woofie Pies, we are adding a whole new line of products for everyone to enjoy. For our edible whoopie we have kits and mixes so you can make whoopie at home. Our wearable whoopie line is under construction and will be on the market in the near future. After all, Mamie's of Maine is all about whoopie. "We make whoopie daily!"
